Here are a couple of pretties I saw at Granny's Attic (the local thrift store) this past Saturday that I just had to share with you all...
This one is really lovely with the pale silvery blue on the hankie...
...and this one was gorgeous with the double layer of lace...
$5 each though, I was feeling a little reluctant to spent that, but maybe if they are still there the next time...
There was another too...I brought that one home and will try to share it later!
Pretty. Interesting that they were so expensive, such goodies are often so cheap that it seems a shame in terms of the work that went into them.
ReplyDeleteThey are, of course, worth $5 each...but yes...much more than I have typically had to pay to "rescue" a piece of tatting :-) Perhaps it means they knew it's value, though they were not marked as tatting but rather as "antique lace" I am saddened when I see beautiful tatted things marked at the same prices as crocheted items because I know the work that went into as well as the greater durability of tatting.
